Preschool!

Today Holden started preschool! As you can tell from the pictures, she was super excited, and VERY proud of her backpack.  :) 

On Tuesday we went for a school visit, to meet her teacher and look around a bit. She's attending a Montessori school, which we think will suit her personality well.

Her teacher, Miss Charmaine, is such a kind and patient woman. She very tactfully asked if Holden's level of energy and movement during our visit was atypical for her or not. Holden likes to move; she's like a butterfly flitting from one corner of the room to the next. I'm looking forward to hearing from Miss Charmaine over the next few weeks about how Holden adjusts to the classroom.

The 'official' first day! I told Holden I wanted to take her picture since it was her first day of school, and of course, she assumed I wanted a picture of her with her backpack! 

She is bubbling over with excitement! 

And without so much as even a goodbye hug, she changed into her 'inside shoes' and off she went, to paint a masterpiece. 

It's quiet here without her. Iona is taking her morning nap and I'm thinking that may not be such a bad idea for me too....
